Oral Argument Preview: Does a Trial Court Retain Jurisdiction to Hold a Sex Offender Registration Hearing After the Sentencing Entry has been Journalized? State v. Raber. — 1 Comment

  1. I have to agree that this case is a mess and it should have never took 10 months for the court to make a decision regarding Kyle registering as a sex offender. If it was clear he was not to register as a sex offender at sentencing then why would the victim’s family be calling and asking questions? I am sure they were there listening to everything regarding this case. It sounds like her family wanted to know what was taking so long for the judge to make his decision. It is such a shame that the courts did not do their part in 2008. I am sure it took lot for this young lady to report what happened to her and then go to trial. This is a perfect reason why most women do not report sexually abuse/rape to the law enforcements. Now it seems she will be the one who does not see justice in her case. Why should she be the one punished because the courts did not do their part?
